Anesthesia Warning Cards and PPS Symptom Checklist

Original Post:  We are happy to be able to highlight both the updated, wallet sized Anesthesia Warning Card (in both English and Spanish) and the complete Polio Survivor Symptom Checklist and Treatment Warnings.

These versions have "QR codes" for easy access to the constantly updated Anesthesia, Breathing information and PPS Care information on the website.

The PA Polio Network is grateful to John Bach, MD, Norma M. Braun, MD, Richard Bruno, PhD, Selma Calmes, MD, Marny Eulberg, MD, William M. DeMayo, MD and Richard Rosenstein, DO for their support in this endeavor.

Richard L Bruno, HD, PhD has two updated articles, covering the topics of General Surgery and for Dental Surgery that are easily accessed by the card.

Dr. Bruno’s Response: When the physician uses their phone to scan the QR code it will automatically link not only to the articles on the page, but (perhaps of greater importance) to the biographies of the professionals who wrote the articles. Often times, sharing the Symptom Checklist with your primary care physician the and the Card with your Anesthesiologist and Surgeon, the information begins a conversation between patient and doctor that may otherwise not have taken place.

Please note: Both these cards and the Symptom Checklist were updated in 2023 and are completely new since the originals were issued previously. They are both easily available for download, printing and for sharing.

If you have trouble with the download, please email: info@polionetwork.org for help.

Note: You can find many articles under the topic “Anesthesia” listed in the Index of the Encyclopedia of Polio and PPS.
